By Car:
- You can reach Holwerd via Leeuwarden (Stiens), or from the East via Groningen Dokkum.
- Follow the ANWB signs to Ameland.
- If you decide not to take your car to the island, you can park it close to the ferry for a small price per day.
By Public Transport:
- From Leeuwarden CS there is a bus that goes to Holwerd that connects directly with the ferry.
