In 1931 Gertruda en Sjeng Bessems start Ons Krijtland. After a few years the three sons of Sjeng and Gertruda take over the business.
Nowadays the hotel is in the hands of the third generation.

You can reach Epen by Public Transportation from the Central station in Maastricht or Heerlen (bus line 57). You can reach Epen by car from highway A2-A76 (Eindhoven-Heerlen-Aken). Follow direction Vaals (N281) from junction 'Bocholtz', then follow direction Maastricht on the N278. Follow this dirction until the exit Mechelen-Epen.
